A MESSAGE FROM TEAM CAMSTRONG (aka Stewi's Fundraising)
For those of you that don't know my story, I am committed to doing everything in my power to raise funds for brain cancer research to help kids like my daughter (recent brain cancer survivor, Cameron Corno), and my mom (brain tumor survivor, Steph Downer).
Cameron turned 4 yesterday (8/31) and it's the happy milestones like this that remind me of just how lucky we are... and how we need to keep fighting for the 15,000 kids currently battling brain cancer.
So, what does the Grand Canyon have to do with brain cancer? I'm joining forces with 3000 Miles to a Cure to raise the desperately-needed funds for brain cancer research. I will be part of a small team of brain cancer warriors and advocates to hike 26 miles from the North to South Rim of the Grand Canyon - in just ONE DAY. With more than 10,000 feet of elevation change, it's a powerful metaphor for the race to end brain cancer. I only have 5 weeks to train AND raise $5,000, so I NEED YOUR HELP in making this happen. We know funding brain tumor research will change the future of those diagnosed with brain cancer and if money is the problem, it is a problem that can be solved.
Just in the last few weeks, a family friend's mom was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor with a life expectancy of just a few months, and another family friend lost their 7-year-old daughter after years of fighting this dreadful disease. Unfortunately, it's not as rare as we think, and is the leading cause of cancer-related-deaths in children. Please consider contributing if you are able to do so.
On October 3rd, I will be rocking my Cam's Crew gear in hopes to crush this challenging endeavor in honor of my hero, Cameron. Together, we are #CAMSTRONG!
THANK YOU ALL for joining me in this race to #beatbraincancer. I appreciate your support more than you know.
