A MESSAGE FROM Going the Distance for Dona - Amanda's Fundraising Page
Please support me as I run in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon to raise awareness of brain aneurysms and funds for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. One in 50 people has an unruptured aneurysm; my mom, Dona Timoney, was one of those 50 people. She was on her last day of a summer vacation from the United States Postal Service and was out doing her favorite thing... walking our dog, Lilly. While on this walk, my mom's brain aneurysm burst. In true Lassie style, Lilly ran to find help and brought a runner back to help my mom. My mom spent twelve days at St. Barnabas hospital in Livingston, NJ, surrounded by incredible doctors who tried tirelessly to save her life. Despite the top-notch care she received, my mom did not survive her aneurysm. With your help, we can change the statistics! Brain aneurysms are beatable and treatable if detected early. Awareness can save lives! Help me help people like my mom!
