A MESSAGE FROM The Breathe Team: Megan Clancy & Kristen Kruczkowski
Tyler and Zach have starred in many roles in my life - first as neighbors, then as friends, and finally as family. Seeing as we have been inseparable since such a young age, their CF was something that was always a part of me and my life, too. We kept enzymes in our pantry, saved video games for nebulizer/vest time, and I’ve found myself sneaking in the “good” Gatorade flavors to the hospital many times. I’ve been with them in so many good times and unfortunately some challenging times. I have told Zach often that I would do anything for he and Ty- and it is no exaggeration. The “anything” that I am really wishing for, a cure, is something I can’t provide; but what I can do is keep running these races to raise awareness and funds that can directly support those who can find a way to provide this to the CF community.
Over the years, we have watched people come together in amazing ways to support The Patron family, and have been able to see the direct impact that this organization and its supporters have. Whether it’s hopeful discoveries, access to care, or FDA approval of life changing medications - It has been inspiration. We are thrilled to be running the New York City Marathon, for not only the CF Foundation, but for Zach, his cousin Eli, Cheri and Matthew and their incredible family, and this year in memory of Tyler.
