A MESSAGE FROM Megan Constantine BHOF Be Bone Strong
Running has been a major part of my life and I’m honored to have been accepted as a runner for the New York City 2024 Marathon Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation Be Bone Strong Team.
A cause I can truly support both personally and professionally. As a runner who is also a Registered Radiology and Bone Density Technologist every day I see the importance of maintaining strong bones and have personally seen the impact a healthy lifestyle can have on an individual.
Now 40 and approaching “Middle Age”, I find myself rebelling against aging so that I can live my best life. Running has helped me find my balance and strength both physically and mentally.
In 2018 I completed my first half marathon and have never looked back. My first full marathon was in 2022 and I was completely heartbroken when I DNS (Did Not Start) my second due to broken ribs.
A wise women told me “you need to have a strong base to support yourself.” My grandmother was right and would often encourage her grandchildren to be their best. I believe in the importance of helping others find their strength.
Life is hard but it is also important to help others find their own strength. I am excited joining this running team and being able to combine my two passions and I look forward to encouraging others with what I have learned as a runner as well as my knowledge of the importance of keeping our bones strong and healthy. What an amazing and much needed foundation.
On behalf of the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF), we thank you for your generous support of the 2024 BHOF 'Be Bone Strong' NYC Marathon Team!
