A MESSAGE FROM Claire
The photo above was taken at my wedding in 2014, This little man, Mason Duncan-Book, was one of those cousins you visit but don't know too well because, well, he's a bouncy little kid who doesn't sit still for very long. Then, at the age of 9, he was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He battled this cancer hard for 20 months, but it took his life in November 2020.
I will be walking at least 50 miles during the month of June for Team In Training’s Resilience Challenge to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission -- to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Please make a contribution to my Resilience Challenge efforts in memory of Mason or any other loved one you have lost to this nasty disease.
My fundraising goal is $360 because in Judaism, the Hebrew word for "life" is equated with the number 18, so multiples of 18 carry a special meaning.
