A MESSAGE FROM Neil's Fundraising Page
CANCER SUCKS! I had it and so many people I know and love have had it and so many more people I know and love WILL have it. While ALL cancer diagnoses are bad, the worst cancer diagnosis is a late one. That’s why I’m running for DetecTogether. They teach people how to detect cancer early, when it’s most treatable and survivable. 40 percent of us are going to get cancer and as I get older, I am confronted by more friends and family diagnosed seemingly each and every day. One of the most important factors to surviving is the stage of cancer when it is first diagnosed. Early detection makes all the difference. DetecTogether teaches a simple, 3-step strategy for detecting cancer early. They teach in schools, present to community groups, and to those at high risk, like firefighters, and empower people to get better healthcare overall. Their life-saving presentations and information are delivered at no cost, thanks to the kindness and generosity of donors. In 2018, my wife saw a spot on my ear that had I not acted on immediately, would have resulted in me not only losing my ear, but quite likely my life. That’s why I am running the TCS New York City Marathon this November as part of Team DetecTogether. I will be raising critical funds and ask you to support me by making a gift. My goal is $5,000 and a donation of any amount will make a difference. Together, let’s make a difference in the fight against cancer.
