A MESSAGE FROM Steve Cooper
On January 19th, I'll be participating in the 16th annual Tampa Bay Frogman Swim in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation. The 3.5 mile cold water swim across Tampa Bay is a small challenge compared to what our naval special operators endure in their sacrifice for our country.
I am swimming for the late Senior Chief Leslie Bruner. She was deployed
to Yemen with me, years ago, as an intelligence professional. Sadly
she lost her battle with cancer. I am also swimming for those lost
aboard EXTORTION 17 that was shot down in Afghanistan where we lost Army
Aviators, Naval Operators, and Air Force Special Tactics Operators.
This tragic event was the greatest single-event loss of life in special
operations.
The Tampa Bay Frogman Swim was borne out of the need to help one severely injured Navy SEAL. The event has now evolved to support all wounded and fallen Naval Special Warfare personnel and their families. The goal of the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim is to build national awareness of the Naval Special Warfare community and support the Foundation whose mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families. We would great appreciate your support!
