A MESSAGE FROM Alex
As you know I work at Children’s Hospital in the informatics department where we build software solutions to complex scientific problems. I realize that once a year I do ask for your support for a charity run that benefits our Cancer Center, but this year something special is happening. Our Eagles are going to the superbowl! You may also know that I don’t follow football too much, but I am a proud Philadelphian born and raised and love anything that puts Philadelphia on the map. Well the Eagles put Philadelphia on the map in ways you may not know. The owners of the team are long-time supporters of Autism research. For many years they have put money towards this cause here at CHOP and other Autism research centers across the city.
On May 19, 2018 I will join the entire Philadelphia Eagles organization and thousands of Philadelphia area residents who will ride, run or walk to raise funds for innovative research and programs to help unlock the mystery of autism. 100% of participant-raised funds will go directly towards autism research and programs at a coalition of leading institutions including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. I need your support to reach my goal and assist those currently affected as well as future generations.
It really doesn’t matter what the term of the moment is for Autism, we know that these kids are usually some of the brightest and talented young people, it’s just locked away somewhere. Help continue this research matters and support the Eagles and their effort in Autism Research. We are just scratching the surface in this research while government NIH money is drying up especially for the most vulnerable and misunderstood health problems.
Thank you!
