On June 9, 2024, I’m participating in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, Swimming from Alcatraz, biking for 18 miles and then run for 8 miles. And yes, for the swim portion, I’ll be jumping off a ship and falling 15 feet into icy cold water where I’ll have to navigate strong currents and avoid “marine wildlife”… aka sharks… to get from Alcatraz to San Francisco’s shore. I’m competing in this insane race to help raise funds for scholarships with the Healy Foundation (THF).
