I was first introduced to Girls in the Game during my AmeriCorps service year. Throughout that time, I had the pleasure of not only working with the most passionate individuals, but got to interact with some incredible girls. As an organization that champions sports, health, and leadership programming, I got to see the work that Girls in the Game does firsthand. Through coaching the afterschool program and working with the teens in the scholarship program I not only saw, but heard directly from the girls what kind of impact our program had on them. Girls who initially started more timid and without many friends ended the season fully coming out of their shell and even taking on leadership roles.
This is the exact reason why when I decided that I wanted to
run this marathon through a charity it was a no brainer that I chose Girls in the
Game to be the team I wanted to represent. Beyond being a 26.2-mile test of
physical and mental fortitude, this marathon is an opportunity to support
something that’s good and positive in our world!
I invite you to support my fundraising efforts for the 2024
Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Every donation, regardless of size,
contributes to making a huge difference. Thank you for being part of this journey with me<3
