Hi all, I am running my first NYC marathon this fall with team First Candle!
First Candle is a tremendous organization that is committed to the elimination of SIDS and other sleep-related infant deaths through education, while providing support and bereavement counseling for grieving families who have suffered a loss. As many of you know, I have spent the last two years at Rollins School of Public Health studying maternal and child health, focusing on equal health access for mothers and babies, proper health education, and safe infant practices. Organizations like First Candle are so inspiring to me as they are putting into practice many of the concepts that I have been learning about for the last two years as well as fighting to end many of the devastating statistics and challenges surrounding maternal and child health.
