A MESSAGE FROM Clarine's Fundraising Page
I couldn't be more excited (and nervous) to run my first marathon! Raising money for the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) makes this race bigger than me and gives me a very concrete purpose to reach the end of 26.2 miles!
Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association's motto is: "Let NO ONE Sit on the SIDELINES". I chose to join Team GLASA for the 2021 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. GLASA provides year-round adaptive sports and wellness programs, including providing all sports equipment needed to participate. Team GLASA charity runners are dedicated to train, run 26.2 miles, and raise money to support youth, adults and veterans with a physical or visual disability.
~ Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! ~
$15 - choose a song I get to (or have to) listen to while I run
$30 - I'll jump in Lake Michigan after a long training run (proof will be posted below)
$50 - dedicate a mile in the race to a person or cause you care about (I will run with the list of dedications)
$60 - force me to eat a teaspoon of wasabi (I'll choose the chaser, thank you very much)
$75 + raise beyond my goal amount by race day - Ice me at the end of the race (Wikipedia coming through for reference to this if needed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icing_(game))
$100 + raise beyond my goal amount by raise day - I'll do an ice bucket dump at the end à la the great Ice Bucket Challenge of 2014
