On March 19th I will be running the 2023 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon. This will be my fourth half marathon, and this time I am so excited to be running in honor an incredible charity: The Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York (EFMNY). 

The EFMNY has been at the heart of the NYC epilepsy community and is New York City’s only specialized organization combining epilepsy education, awareness, and advocacy with individualized services such as counseling and vocational supports. Since 1967 thousands of people with epilepsy and their families have received information or have benefited from the comprehensive social and educational services offered by the EFMNY. My youngest sister was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was just 14 years old. Through the incredible work of various New York doctors, we have been made significant progress in managing her seizures and have taken huge steps towards a seizure-free life for her. Stories like this would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of organizations like The Epilepsy Foundation and I am so excited to run in honor of my sister and in support of such an incredible organization.
