After being cooped up for more than a year and in a fit of daring (more like a momentary lapse of reason), I decided to torture myself by signing up to run the New York Marathon this year. The good part is that I will be running to raise money for Lee Pesky Learning Center, a nationally renowned non-profit committed to helping children overcome learning disabilities through research and intervention. For more details on their work and impact in the community please check https://www.lplearningcenter.org/.
Nearly one in five students has a learning disability. Learning can be a huge challenge for these children and LPLC provides a life changing experience for them which I am fortunate to know of through my wife, Pragnyaa, who is a Math Specialist there. LPLC depends on donations to offer their services and many students benefit from the scholarships they offer.
For the New York Marathon, I have set a fundraising goal of $3,500 and I need your help to reach it! Any amount would be appreciated. It all goes to a wonderful cause and provides me that additional motivation to train harder to get to the finish line!!
Since its founding nearly 25 years ago, LPLC has supported more than 100,000 students and 7,000 teachers nation-wide. The funds raised will help in ensuring that their life-changing services remain affordable and accessible to all.
