I'm excited and humbled to share that I am again joining forces with 3000 Miles to a Cure to raise funds for brain cancer research. On September 27, 2021, I will join a small team of brain cancer warriors hiking 23.5 miles from the North Rim to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We will complete this crossing in one day to bring hope to those fighting brain cancer. 

This cause, and this group of people have a significant place in my heart.  Three years ago, I joined this team in honor of my dear sister Anna, and embarked on this challenge as she fiercely fought for just a few more days with her loved ones.  I found a group of people who knew exactly the pain and heartbreak I was experiencing, and welcomed me with loving arms.  As we took on the Canyon, I saw my ache transform into overwhelming sense of strength and hope, that ultimately we will prevail over cancer.  I am honored to join forces with this army again, this time, with my father alongside me.

I recognize that my experience with cancer, is unfortunately a common story in this day and age, and that everyone will be in some way touched by a form of this disease in their lifetime. In my own experience, brain cancer was not and is not the specific type of cancer that plagued or continues to threaten my loved ones today. But tomorrow it could be. When we're supporting research for any type of cancer, we're contributing to the greater purpose of eradicating all forms of this vicious disease. I've chosen to take on this challenge to honor and support every one of the fierce warriors who have taken on the battle, and those in the midst of the fight.
