Running the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon has been something I’ve been striving to do, and after training for the Brooklyn Half Marathon, I decided what better time to do it than now! This year I will be running the NYC Marathon as a part of the Lupus Research Alliance Team.
This cause is particularly important to me as my mom, (who is my best friend!), was diagnosed with Lupus. I am thrilled to run for her!
So in addition to training over the next few months, I will also be spending my free time spreading awareness and raising funds to go to a good cause. I am so excited to be a part of this team and take part in this once in a lifetime experience.
Over the next few months I am aiming to raise $3,000.00 for Lupus research and I would love your support. If you would like to donate to this cause, please click the big donate button.
Heard of Lupus but not quite sure what it is? It’s more common than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis and sickle-cell anemia combined. Yet it remains one of our country’s least recognized major diseases. Lupus is serious and complex: it can lead to heart attack, kidney failure, stroke, and in some cases death. Lupus can strike anyone at any time, but it disproportionately targets young women and men. All of the funds raised for the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon will support the Lupus Research Alliance’s mission: to find better treatments, prevent and ultimately cure this devastating and complex autoimmune disease.
