A MESSAGE FROM Julia's Fundraising Page
I started distance running in 2020 to cope with lockdown and the turmoil of uncertainty: grad school wrapping up, a toxic relationship ending, and moving back to my hometown. Fast forward a few years, running has become my solace, my happy place, the cure for my anxiety, and the reason I met my current partner. I'm so excited to be running my first marathon with my (favorite and only) brother in our hometown with friends and family abound.
The organization I'm running on behalf of is truly inspiring and near to my heart. Little Village Environmental Justice Organization is fighting to build community power and combat environmental injustices that impact so many communities across the country. While in grad school studying environmental policy, I supported environmental justice organizations through research and power-building, specifically helping EJ communities access their own clean energy projects to strengthen resilience.
It would mean so much for you to support my fundraising efforts for the 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. No donation is too small. Please click on the donate button!
