A MESSAGE FROM Donate to support Asian American journalists and AAPI representation in media!
After going on a casual jog along a short portion of the NYC Marathon route in Nov. 2023, I thought to myself, "maybe I should try to do this marathon thing while I still can."
6 months later, here I am, getting ready to run my first marathon. So far, the journey has been super inspiring. We really can do incredible things.
Those feats wouldn't be possible without an amazing support network, and that's why I'm thrilled to run as part of the team for the Asian American Journalists Association.
AAJA has worked tirelessly to support Asian American journalists and Asian American representation in media since 1981. They provide scholarships to young journalists, mentorship opportunities, awards for stand-out work, and a strong network of peers and advocates in a notoriously tough industry.
With hate crimes on the rise, rising extremism and xenophobia, and economic hardships facing Asian American communities across the US, the mission and work of AAJA are more important than ever.
Please help me reach my goal of raising $3,000 for AAJA ahead of the NYC Marathon in November -- any amount is greatly appreciated!

My AAJA story:
I only joined AAJA in 2022, but in a few short years, the organization has blown me away with the network of support it provides.
When I first joined at the urging of a friend, I was a bit nervous โ being mixed-race, I've sometimes struggled with how I fit in with the Asian-American community as a whole.
But when I attended AAJA conference in 2023, I found an impressive and warm community that welcomed me with open arms.
That year, I won an AAJA award for business/tech coverage alongside other incredible AAPI journalists.
The experience opened my eyes to the great work that AAJA does, and to the importance of AAJA's network in amplifying Asian-American voices in the media.
This year, in addition to running the NYC marathon with team AAJA, I'm also mentoring a recent college grad through AAJA.
I am proud to be a member of AAJA and to help advance its mission of greater Asian-American representation and support in journalism!
