A MESSAGE FROM Rosie Strong Marathon Fundraising Page
On November 6th, just 3 weeks after Rosie's 5th birthday, Charlie and I will be running the NYC Marathon in honor of our Rosie girl and in support of The SUDC Foundation. Our story is heartbreaking - even 2.5 years later, we still cannot believe that we lost our perfectly healthy and happy baby girl with no explanation. But what is even more heartbreaking, is that we are not alone in our pain. Every year - sudden unexplained death in children strikes almost 400 families & is one of the leading causes of death in children 1-18 years old. The SUDC Foundation is the only organization worldwide that promotes awareness, funds research, and supports the grieving families who are affected. After connecting with other SUDC families, attending our first annual SUDC retreat this past April, and seeing first hand the impact this organization has on so many - we could not be more passionate about supporting the work that they do. The SUDC "tribe" has given us a forum for answers, a network for connections, and a lifeline when we didn't know how to move forward.
And so we are lacing up our sneakers. We will run 26.2 miles for all of the children gone too soon, for all of the grieving parents that are searching for their strength and their path forward, for our God-sent network of friends and families that have helped guide us back to life, for the doctors & nurses that work tirelessly to find us answers, for the SUDC foundation and the resources they provide. But most importantly, we run for ROSIE. Because every step we take - is one step closer to being with her again. Because we have no doubt that she will carry us over that finish line. Because we live to make her proud. Because we are #ROSIESTRONG.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, for your love, and for any monetary donation you may be able to provide towards our goal.
