This July, I'm getting to live out a dream of biking a stage of the Tour De France with my brother as part of L'Etape du Tour De France. This is all happening because of the amazing local charity, The Iris Fund. The Iris Fund works to understand what causes labor in a full-term pregnancy so that we can eventually stop labor from starting early - preventing preterm birth. 15 million babies a year are born prematurely, many with complications for both baby and mother. The Iris Fund's mission is to reduce infant mortality due to prematurity and improve maternal health for all women everywhere. Having come to know Brittney Crystal, the founder and for whose daughter she lost to preterm complications the charity is named, I can say that The Iris Fund's dedication to its mission is admirable and worthy of support. As I embark on fundraising for this event, I want to first acknowledge how fortunate I am to even be in a position to ride my bike half way around the world. That's why every dollar you donate will have a quadrupled effect to help not only The Iris Fund but also victims of the California Wildfires.
