A MESSAGE FROM Grace
In June of 2020, my husband and I started to notice my daughter display some behaviors that we thought were possible tics. However, after the visit with a neurologist at the end of August of 2020, our beautiful daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes recurring, unprovoked seizures. At first, we were in shock as well as very emotional. We had so many questions and concerns, and just worried what kind of a life this diagnosis would give our daughter. Thankfully, Grace has really great doctors who have been super helpful to her, as well as us, her family.
Every day, Grace takes multiple medications several times a day. On September 25th, our family has decided to walk in the 10th annual walk to end epilepsy in NYC. We hope with more epilepsy awareness that individuals like our daughter continue to be supported and that more research will lead to better treatment and care.
