A MESSAGE FROM Ixchel
Hi there! My name is Ixchel and I am so honored to be running the 2025 Houston marathon with Team Catapult!
As a visually impaired runner living with Retinitis Pigmantosa, I am so moved by the work that Team Catapult does to raise awareness and advocate for athletes with disabilities, while educating folks about this community of empowering people. In the past few years, i’ve hesitated to transition my run from running independently to running with a guide and am excited that this will be my first guided marathon. Through Team Catapult, i’ve learned that running with a guide is more freeing than running alone and i’m so immensely grateful for their support in helping me preserve my ability to practice my favorite sport. Less falls (like pictured above) and more friends and freedom now that i’ve embraced this new journey - and i couldn’t be happier about it.
Please consider donating to my fundraiser to ensure Team Catapult can keep empowering people like me and breaking down the barriers of entry into the sport of running.

and as always, reach out with questions - i’m an open book!
Xoxo,
Ixch 🦋
