A MESSAGE FROM Paul's Running for the Kings Trust
This will be my first ever marathon! The furthest I have ever run in my life before this is six miles, and that was two decades ago. So now I am going to find out if my knees can take me an extra 20 miles, 20 years later. The sensible thing would be to take a hard pass, BUT ...
The King's Trust has been a charity close to my heart over the many years working as a British Diplomat, and now as British Consul General. Being able to run a marathon in support of their work here in the US, and around the world, in their 50th Anniversary year is the perfect calling.
The dedication, training and resilience I need to complete the 26.2 miles, is the the same dedication and resilience that all the young people who benefit from the work of the Trust show every day in how they are improving their lives. And if I can make a small contribution to that by running the marathon, that's why I'm here.
And that is also why I am asking for your support. Anything you can give for this cause (and for my knees ...) would be amazing, and hugely appreciated by everyone who benefits every day from this incredible charity.
