A MESSAGE FROM Mia's 2024 Chicago Marathon Fundraising
To run the 2024 Chicago marathon, I am dedicating half of the minimum funds required to raise and would love if you joined me to support this cause.
I wanted to partner with Cornerstone Community Outreach because they directly serve the homeless and struggling residents of Northern Chicago, where roughly the first 4 miles of the marathon begin.
According to their 2022 report, the CCO had capacity to provide following services last year thanks to donations and volunteers:
+ 152,558 warm and nutritious meals to struggling northern Chicago residents.
+ Shelter to 228 people, about half of whom were children.
+ Assigned caseworkers to each resident to sort housing, get referrals, and assistance through their local partners.
+ Free groceries to the food insecure, many of whom are elderly.
+ Free donated clothing and household items for residents.
+ Free computer and life skill classes to shelter residents.
