A MESSAGE FROM Help Alison Run the NYC Marathon
After starting my year with ACL surgery, it is my goal to finish the year running the NYC marathon. I made this decision to overcome my injury and ensure I stick with my recovery training, but more importantly to prove to myself anything is possible with a little hard work... and that my body isn't falling apart because I'm getting older!
This year, I am joining the New York Junior League's marathon team. In order to run with this amazing group of women, I need to raise $3,500. Will you help me reach my goal?
About the New York Junior League
The New York Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
How We Contribute to the Communities in NYC
As the oldest all-women and one of the largest volunteer service organizations in New York City, the NYJL has approximately 2,800 volunteers who contribute more than 250,000 hours of service annually. More than 50 committees support the community needs of New York City as well as the institutional needs of the organization.
The NYJL’s purpose is improving the lives of women and children in Manhattan by working with community-based organizations and public agencies to deliver services and assistance directly to those in need.
