Running for me has become that moment when I put everything aside to focus only on myself. I train my body to become stronger, more resistant, faster; but I also train my mind, which works to control fatigue, physical pain and turn it into motivation to achieve my goals. When I run I feel happy. I clear my mind, I am filled with new ideas and I feel strong, powerful and capable of reaching whatever I set my mind to.
This year I decided to run the New York City Marathon as a personal challenge. Striving to be better and stronger but not only for me, but for my 3 children, who are my force engine. I want to dedicate this challenge to them and by doing so, give them a clear message of perseverance, discipline, and effort ! Hopefully teaching them by example that with hard work you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Also dedicate this, to my husband and his unconditional support, he is my inspiration for always wanting to be the best version of myself, to give more, to set goals and not stop until I achieve them. Last but not least, this will be done for the women of my life; my daughter, my Mom, my sisters , the girlfriends I grew up with and all the strong and brave women who in different ways are part of and contribute to my life.
Along the way to achieve my goal of running the marathon I have found an amazing ally. The compassionate organization with which I have the honor to cooperate, TEAL (Tell Every Amazing Lady®️) is a not-for-profit organization that provides support to women affected by ovarian cancer and their families through physical and mental wellness services. Personally, what I like the most and inspire me to work alongside with this organization was that TEAL thinks about all women. This is specially important to me, coming from a society where women and their well being have been keep in the background for years. The idea to be part of a movement that gives importance, awareness and prevention that all women deserve, really motivates me to contribute to this cause. Supporting a team that seeks spaces to educate women about the importance of early detection, recognizing the signs, symptoms and risks of this deadly disease and thereby saving lives is enough to ask everyone I know for support and contribution to this important cause.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support, any amount will be gratefully received and will go entirely to the organization. No donation is too small :)
