A MESSAGE FROM Barbara's "Not Running in the NYC Marathon Due to a Stress Fracture" Fundraiser!
For the first time in 17 years, I won't be lacing up my shoes for the New York City Marathon (and had to skip the Chicago Marathon, too!)—and it’s crushing.
Why am I not running this year? Here's why: I've been sidelined with a meniscus tear and stress fracture in my knee, and while I may not be running this year, my heart is still very much in the race.
My personal goal is to surpass $4,000 by Friday, Nov. 1st! Please help me!
As Team Captain of the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) 'Be Bone Strong' NYC Marathon Team, our mission to raise awareness about bone health is more important than ever. Our team goal is to surpass $50,000 so BHOF can continue its life-changing programs, research, and outreach to help people prioritize their bone health at every stage of life.
PLEASE DONATE AND HELP SUPPORT THIS INCREDIBLE ORGANIZATION THAT IS CELEBRATING ITS 40TH ANNIVERSARY!
I may not be on the course on Sunday, 11/3, but I’m still a member of the BHOF Board of Trustees and a member of the truly extraordinary 'Be Bone Strong' Team and I will be out there along the marathon course cheering them on!
Every donation counts, and I truly appreciate your support. Let’s show the world what being 'bone strong' really means!
