Great futures start at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford (BGCH) and that is why I am raising money to benefit the country's first Club. Founded in 1860 in Hartford, four women opened their homes to youth and over 162 years later, BGCH has become a leader in youth development. The Clubs work with young people to provide them opportunities to explore interests, and empower youth to excel in school. BGCH actively seeks to enrich young lives by focusing on six key pillars: Academic Success, Character and Leadership, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Health and Wellness, STEAM, and Workforce Readiness. By raising money to support the Clubs I am helping ensuring that all of our community’s youth and teens – especially those who need us most – have a safe place to go after school where they are provided access to quality programs and services that enhance their lives and positively shape their futures.
