I am so excited to announce that I am committed to fundraising for Girls Inc. of New York City for the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Please consider donating to support my efforts!
This is my very first marathon and I am overjoyed that my 26.2 miles will be in support of an organization that is dedicated to inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
All too often are girls encouraged to be "the good girl" - the girl who is silenced, the girl who doesn't question, the girl who doesn't push boundaries, the girl who dims her own shine. We are expected to be everything and nothing all at once - all while seamlessly navigating through a world that objectifies us, places barriers on us, and tells us we're never quite good enough.
It is up to us to rewrite this - to give girls their voice back, to empower and encourage them, to advocate for change. To provide a space safe enough to belong, to love, and to heal.
Now, more than ever, girls need a place like Girls Inc.
Girls Inc. of New York provides life-transforming programs that prepare New York City's girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers to advance to a more equitable world. Their evidence-based programming is supported by trained professionals who focus on the development of the whole girl, supporting, mentoring and guiding girls in an affirming, pro-girl environment. Girls learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate their challenges.
Together we can provide girls with the opportunity to overcome, grow, and achieve.
