Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I will be running in the 2026 NYC Marathon, and I won’t be doing it alone—I’ll be racing for and with Back on My Feet, a nonprofit that empowers people to break free from cycles of poverty, homelessness, and addiction through the power of fitness, community support, and employment resources.
Their program brings people together to run early in the morning several days a week, creating accountability, structure, and a supportive community. But it goes far beyond the miles. Through the program, members gain access to job training, career coaching, housing support, and educational opportunities that help them build long-term stability.
Joining the Back on My Feet Race Team isn’t just changing how I run—it’s changing why I run. It turns every mile into an opportunity to help someone else take their next step forward.
Each mile represents someone getting closer to stability, independence, and a fresh start. The idea that a race could help fund someone’s first apartment, help them afford tuition to move into a better career, or simply give them the tools and confidence to show up to work is incredibly powerful.
To give you an idea of the impact your donation can have:
$50 can help a member obtain critical documents (like a birth certificate or ID) needed to apply for jobs
$100 can provide several hours of career coaching
$250 can ensure reliable transportation to and from work
$500 can provide tools and materials for someone starting a trade career
$1,000 can help fund professional certifications, licenses, or education for long-term employment
Back on My Feet also has an incredible ripple effect—every $1 invested returns nearly $2.50 to the community through increased employment and reduced costs related to healthcare, housing instability, and incarceration.
Training for a marathon is always challenging, but knowing that the miles can help create opportunities for others makes the journey so much more meaningful.
