Running in Memory of Cile Steward

On July 4, 2025, twenty-seven girls lost their lives in the tragic floods at Camp Mystic. Each girl was unique, yet all were remembered for their kindness, generosity, and the way they lifted others with love and joy.

I’m running the Austin Half Marathon in February 2026 for one of Heaven’s 27: Cile Steward, who is the last camper yet to be found. Cile was a courageous, funny, plucky force of nature. We miss her dearly!

The families of these 27 angels created Heaven’s 27 Foundation to carry forward their spirit of kindness and joy. I’ve committed to raising at least $10,000 for this foundation, and I’m asking for your support.

Every donation honors Cile and all 27 girls. Every mile I run will be for them.

    Hi Courtney, I’m touched by your gesture in honor of Cile and her parents and family. I’m good friends with Cissy and Mike. Marg and my daughter Rose go to camp together in WV. I grew up in Louisiana and spent several summers at Camp Fern in East TX.
