The photo on the left is by Arnaud Maggs in his Toronto studio of me and a brand new Jet. Neither Jet nor I at the time had any idea that a quarter of a century later we would both know what we know now about ME. We thank MASS ME, a nonprofit organization in Massachusetts that
helps patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (like Jet) and a significant
percentage of those with Long COVID learn how to cope, file for disability insurance,
talk to their doctors, and not feel alone.
Government funding for research in this condition is truly, indefensibly,
shamefully, and—given the disease burden
and impact on millions of human lives and all of our GDP—patently pathetic.
