Did you know that child poverty remains a major challenge in California? In early 2023, 13.8% of children in California were living in poverty. In the 5th largest economy in the world, this is unacceptable.

For me, this is not just a statistic—it’s personal. I grew up in deep poverty in the heart of Los Angeles. I know firsthand the struggles that too many children and families face every single day. Poverty doesn’t just impact individual lives; it affects all of us—our communities, our economy, and our shared future.

That’s why I’m answering the call to action. I’m training and running to raise critical funds for End Child Poverty CA, an organization working to break the cycle of poverty and create real change for generations to come.
