A MESSAGE FROM Paul
I had never really heard about traumatic brain injuries until one day last year when one of my closest friends had an accident that changed he and his family's lives forever. This event has left a hole in my life and many others. He was the kind of friend you call "Brother" and actually mean it. Prior to the accident, he was about as adventerous and active as they come. He was a runner and part of the inspiration to get me back to running races after a 30 year hiatus. I am running the Chicago Marathon on October 8th for Him and for others that have suffered similar injuries, as well as their families and caregivers. I run with the hope that new research will lead to better treatments. All contributions to my campaign will go towards the Brain Injury Recovery Foundation and are very much appreciated!
The Brain Injury Recovery Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to support those who have suffered Brain or Spinal Cord Injuries as well as their family, friends, and caregivers by providing programs for Care, Financial Assistance and Rehabilitation built to meet their specific needs so that they can achieve their goals. 2.8 million Americans (1 in 5) suffer catastrophic events such as traumatic brain injuries, strokes, aneurysms, concussions and spinal cord injuries each year.
