A MESSAGE FROM Hilary Monroe
I started running in Spring of 2021 after I gave birth to my second son. What started off as a means of exercise quickly grew into a love for the sport and a community for me. I set a huge goal to run the New York City Marathon! After many setbacks and patient training, I am finally ready.
I am also a full-time graduate student studying counseling. I am passionate about maternal mental health and wellness and knew that I wanted my efforts in this race to support an organization that was also working to support mothers.
Saving Mothers is an incredible nonprofit dedicated to improving maternal health outcomes for marginalized women globally. They are committed to maternal health equity in a culturally inclusive and responsive way.
I am thrilled to help share their mission during my training and garner support for their work.
I truly love being a Mother Runner!
