A MESSAGE FROM William's Fundraising Page
This November, I will be running the New York City Marathon with Team T.E.A.L. (Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation).
I am running with Team T.E.A.L. in honor of my Aunt Sue who passed away on August 24th, 2023, after her year long battle with ovarian cancer. Beyond being loved and adored by our tight knit family, Aunt Sue had a lasting impact on her community in White Plains, NY, as a White Plains High School Athletics Hall of Fame athlete and coach and a dedicated teacher of 25 years. She retired from teaching in June 2022 and shortly after began her battle with ovarian cancer. Despite having every reason to ask "why me, why now", she battled cancer the same way she conducted all aspects of her life, with a full heart and without complaint, never losing the grace and positivity that made her so loved by those who knew her. Aunt Sue passed away at 62, but she lived as full of a life as anyone I know. The life she lived and the family she raised continue to inspire me today.
Nothing will ever change what happened, but having the opportunity to represent Team T.E.A.L. gives our family the opportunity to help out another family, to take a stand against cancer, and to honor the legacy of a woman who touched so many lives. Please support this amazing organization in spreading awareness, supporting those fighting cancer and their families, and finding a cure for this deadly disease.
