A MESSAGE FROM Alex Chakar’s 2023 TCS NYC Marathon Fundraiser
I am so excited to be able to run the NYC MARATHON this November!! This will be my very first marathon, and I am so thankful I get to run 26.2 miles for the Allyson Whitney Foundation. I am fundraising with this charity because as someone who was diagnosed with and beat leukemia at age 17, I want to raise money and run these miles for people going through what I did. The Allyson Whitney Foundation primarily provides young adult cancer patients with grants to help the financial burden of cancer treatments, as well as putting money towards research and donating comfort bags to oncology suites in hospitals. This foundation had helped me out when I was sick, and I am so grateful to be running for them!!
