A MESSAGE FROM Garlen Runs the NYC Marathon
On November 7, I'm competing in the 50th Annual NYC Marathon to benefit Experience Camps for grieving children.
This is Chenzi’s third summer attending PennEx boys camp in Equinunk, PA and I’m so thankful that for one week out of the year he is with other kids who get what it’s like to experience such profound loss and gain the skills to cope and have the amazing life that Chike would have wanted for him.
I've never run a full marathon before but started running longer distances as a way for me to control stress and cope with my own loss. I am so delighted to be joined on this journey by Chike's childhood friend Paul Fine who will also be raising an additional $3,500 so more kids like Chenzi can get this opportunity to thrive.
I'm writing to ask your support with a donation of any amount through my team page https://fundraisers.hakuapp.com/garlen-capita.
Experience Camps is a national, no-cost program for grieving children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. They have the ability to make significant differences for our kids and our society in how we process and understand grief. I hope you'll join me in helping this organization grow to reach more kids who need this experience. You can learn more by heading to experiencecamps.org. Thank you for your support!
