A MESSAGE FROM Grace's Fundraising Page
Humor is my main coping mechinism and how I got though my 2 (you heard me, TWO) breast cancer diagnoses and I can't think of anything funnier than trying to run a marathon at 46 years old as a 2x survivor!
As a young mom of three, I experienced the shock of a cancer diagnosis at the age of 35. As mentioned earlier, I was diagnosed a second time 5 years later. After a decade of treatments, setbacks and recovery I am taking my mental-masochism to the next level and going for the 26.2 baby!
I am training for the Chicago marathon with the Lynn Sage team because I know firsthand the impact their work has on the breast cancer community. I have seen it in action and know that they will continue to save lives through their investiture in clinicians, researchers and stakeholders.
The race is exactly 10 years after my first diagnosis. Let's prove to all my haters (and by haters, I mean my own rogue cells that tried to kill me twice) that I can do this!
