A MESSAGE FROM Hannah’s fundraising page
I am extremely excited to be running the Chicago marathon for the Van Andel Institute, where your donations go towards research of Parkinson’s Disease and more. My Grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinson's a few years ago. My Grandpa and I are very close and he has always been my biggest supporter all my life. Whether that meant coming to watch all of my gymnastics meets and practices, or cheering me on in school, to coming all the way to Chicago just to see my new home when I moved. He has always been there for me. I want to run the Chicago marathon for a cause that is near to my heart, research for Parkinson's Disease which has no cure. I want to support my Grandpa like he has always supported me. Running the marathon for my Grandpa and anyone else with the disease has motivated me like no other to run and raise money as best as I can.
Thank you for supporting the Van Andel Institute's 2025 Chicago Marathon team! Your gift enables us to continue funding groundbreaking scientific research and develop programs that have a national impact on K-12 and graduate education. You can learn more about how our scientists are turning hope into action for millions of people affected by cancer, Parkinson's, dementias, and other devastating diseases by visiting our website, vai.org.
