Hi, I’m Isabel. This Fall, I’m running the NYC Marathon in honor of my little brother, Michael, who tragically lost his battle with mental illness last year.
My goal is to raise $5,000 for NAMI-NYC, an organization providing crucial free mental health programs, including bereavement support groups that have been a source of strength for me. Every donation, big or small, directly helps those affected by mental illness in NYC. NAMI-NYC empowers individuals and families facing mental health challenges. By contributing, you’re not just supporting me—you’re helping countless others find the support they need.
Running has become a way for me to cope with the upending grief and sense of longing I feel for Michael. He had so many adventures ahead of him. With the time I have that he wasn’t given, I want to push myself to chase big adventures like this on his behalf, and I know he’d be proud of me for tackling this challenge.
Thank you for considering a donation in Michael’s honor. Any amount helps. You can also share my fundraising page to spread the word. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those facing mental health challenges in NYC.
With gratitude,
Isabel
