A MESSAGE FROM Bella's NYC Marathon Fundraiser - Every Mother Counts!
Hello! On November 3rd, 2024, I will be participating in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon to raise funds for Every Mother Counts (EMC). This will be my 4th marathon and 2nd world major and I am so beyond excited!
I chose to work with EMC because while I may not be a mother, as a woman, I empathize with the global struggle for reproductive healthcare. Between my global health classes in school and witnessing the current climate of reproductive rights in our country, I am extremely passionate about advocating for equitable maternity health care. Every year around the world, nearly 287,000 women die from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Motherhood should be a joyous time, not one where women have to fear for their safety. I want every mother to be able to have similar experiences to my own mom, and providing holistic maternal care is something that all people, regardless of their background or origin, should have access to.
Nearly all of these maternal deaths are preventable. Through identifying and supporting local needs, Every Mother Counts is dedicated to uplifting communities and investing in maternal health programs across the globe. Your contribution will help provide vital awareness, resources, and services to women in need. I am eager to fundraise for this important cause while also chasing my own personal goals.
