A MESSAGE FROM Jaclyn
On May 18, 2019, I will join Team Drexel on behalf of the School of Education and the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute to participate in the Eagles Autism Challenge. Most of us know someone who has been impacted by autism, with an estimated 1 in 59 people under the age of 21 in the United States on the spectrum. The majority of my academic and professional careers has been spent researching and creating access and accommodations for those affected by Aspergers Syndrome (an autism spectrum disorder) to pursue their dreams of higher education.
This event is dedicated to raising funds for innovative research and programs addressing the complex issues presented by the condition of autism. By providing the necessary resources to thought leaders, we can advance scientific breakthroughs. All participant-raised funds (100%) will go directly towards autism research and programs at beneficiary partners, as together we shift from autism awareness to action.
