A MESSAGE FROM Jaclyn's Big Sur Marathon Fundraising Page for the ALS Therapy Development Institute
Ten years ago, on December 10th, 2015, my mother died from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). She was diagnosed in 2013, when very little was known about the disease publicly. When my mom told me that she had been diagnosed, I knew nothing about it. I soon learned that there is no known cure for ALS, and the life expectancy of someone, once diagnosed, is two to five years. My mother got two. In 2016, I ran the Philadelphia Half Marathon in support of the ALS Association. Now, ten years later, I am running the Big Sur Marathon in support of the ALS Therapy Development Institute. Please consider donating to support research to find a cure for ALS.
