A MESSAGE FROM Jamie's NYC Marathon Fundraising Page
After a very trying year or so a minor miracle dropped in my lap in the chance to run the NYC Marathon, a dream of mine since I was probably 8 years old, and long deferred.
That chance ironically came through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a friend whose daughter survived cancer at a young age and was helped through that process with the dream of an experience provided by Make-A-Wish. While there are many other valuable charities out there doing great work, it never really struck me until now how necessary the need for a dream, goal or vision is to help someone get through the brutal fight of a disease, or in my case simply having the tangible goal of the marathon to pull out of a very tough year.
Any donation very much appreciated to help provide tangible dreams for kids battling through illness to strive for, and to provide a chance for this kid to live out his dream of running through 26.2 miles of crowds in the greatest city in the world.
