Becoming a mom was the scariest moment of my life. Not just in the typical terrifying sense that becoming a mom is scary, but after being induced at 41-weeks due to my baby's size, I had a very traumatic birth. She was born blue, not breathing, with the umbilical cord wrapped twice. The on-call pediatric emergency doctor rushed in along with a number of extra nurses. While they took care of my baby, my heart rate was not leveling out. I am so grateful it was only a few moments of fear and then Charlotte cried, my heart rate evened out, and everything was as we had hoped. For so many women, that isn't the case.
