A MESSAGE FROM Jessica Gazzani Sandy Hook Promise New York Marathon
Last year, the effects of gun violence hit far too close to home when my best friend and brother was involved in a ghost gun shooting in San Diego. For those of you who know Vin, he is the most positive, kind-hearted warrior and after being shot three times has worked his way through a tough and ongoing recovery. He has been a pillar of light by staying optimistic and has been doing what he knows best which is taking action to promote change. Since the shooting, he has been involved in multiple foundations and fundraising efforts. He is a hero.
As he always does, Vin has inspired me to take action to help promote change in our community.
I am honored to have been selected to be on the 2022 Sandy Hook Promise Marathon Team. Together, we have the power to help protect our children from all forms of violence. Amazing programs are available that help create safer, more inclusive and connected schools and communities. Start with Hello, S.A.V.E. Promise Clubs, Say Something and the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System are all tools managed by Sandy Hook Promise and available, at no cost, to all schools, communities and families. Through donations like yours, we can continue to support these lifesaving programs and to reach more youth! Help me and Vin reach our goal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
