I’ve been running my entire life. From overcoming sickness as an infant to asthma in my early years, God blessed me to sprint and hurdle at a high level in college but even in my successes on and off the track, my mindset was still sprinter or one lap focused. That’s one reason I've decided to register for the 2021 Houston Chevron Marathon.
Since 8 years old, Evan Vaughn has been my best friend. We’ve been through so much life riding together the entire way through grade school, tons of hanging out, college, Evan overcoming lung cancer and true brotherhood. Throughout his journey, I saw him participate in the HEART program, founded to create new opportunities for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) to achieve their full potential, greatly impacted him to become the strong man he is today.
Because of Evan and as a current representative of the HEART program, I am fundraising and running in honor of them.
All donations go to the HEART PROGRAM (Housing, Entrepreneurship And Readiness Training) Let's help all people with special needs reach their full potential!
