Before the fires devastated so much of Los Angeles, I joined the Angel City Pit Bulls marathon team to raise funds for their incredible work rescuing and training pit bulls and other dogs. In the aftermath of such loss, it feels difficult to ask for donations—especially when so many people are in need.

But animals have also been deeply affected by these fires. Many have lost their homes, and countless owners, overwhelmed by their own challenges, have had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave their pets behind.

Angel City Pit Bulls is stepping up to help at-risk populations like pit bulls and kittens, giving shelter animals a second chance at a better future.
