A MESSAGE FROM The Release Foundation x Kaelyn Angelo
Hey y’all!! Thanks so much for taking a peek at my fundraising page. This means so much to me and I’m excited to race for The Release Foundation at the NYC Marathon in November!
The Release Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all who are ready and willing to seek professional treatment, are able. Substance Use Disorder and mental illness destroy the lives of too many people from underserved communities who may not have the resources for proven treatments. The Release Foundation offers scholarships to bridge the gap between what people can afford and what they need to transform their lives, regardless of race, gender, and/or sexual orientation.
I struggled with alcoholism/marijuana misuse in my late 20’s and couldn’t really find an escape. I was just drinking to cope with pain and saw no end in sight. After I had my son, Midland, I knew I wanted to be better and get better so he can have the mom he deserves. Navigating my sobriety on top of Postpartum Depression/Anxiety & PTSD has been extremely difficult, but with the love and support of my friends and family I’m happy to be here 1.5 years sober!
I’m running for Release for those who might not have support or the means to find a safe outlet like I did. Any small donation will help fund these scholarships to give people access to Recovery resources and mental health guidance. 💙
